Garden & Landscape
Jaycobav L asked: I’ve a few tree sprouts (apples, oaks & others) which are about 3 months – 1.2 years old. I want to double their growth and continue it during the winter in order to plant them in the spring, and I’ve read it’s possible if you put them indoors and use a lamp. I wanted to know whether I can use a regular lamp or must buy a 600V lamp.
Thanks beforehand.

Alexander asked: This summer I am working as an assistant for a projectionist (yes, apparently it’s a real role) at a local software corporation. The company owns around 200 projectors, and so part of my job is to replace many of the lamps in these projectors as they burn out, near the end of their expected life times, or explode. As just mentioned, these lamps sometimes explode, and being mercury lamps release mercury vapor into whatever rooms or spaces they are located in.
I am never required to replace any of these exploded lamps right after they have exploded, and can wait until a particular room is “safe” from mercury vapors until I actually have to go replace them. However, much of the time the projector will contain broken glass and possibly other debris from the explosion, and I am wondering whether replacing these exploded lamps could be harmful due to mercury contained in these debris or mercury still present in the projector as a residue or powder. Just as a note, the aspect of my health about which I am the most worried with regards to the mercury is the health of my nervous system and brain–an organ that as a current college student I certainly would not want to get damaged at all, so as to keep my level of intelligence just as high as it was coming into this job.
Thanks a lot
